MunSang Printers Sdn Bhd is a dynamic and forward-thinking printing company offering one-stop, total integrated printing solutions for our customers' print-related requirements. Established in 2000 at the dawn of the new millennium, our growth has been cautiously planned but aggressively executed. We are one of only a select few printers operating in four major market segments - book-printing, commercial-printing, newspaper-printing, and packaging-printing.

Starting with just one newspaper web press, we undertook contract-printing of tabloids and newspapers as the independent printing arm of the MunSang publishing group. Leveraging on broad-based investment and staff dedication, we achieved an average annual growth rate of nearly 50% over a 5-year period. We have built-up, and proudly protect, our reputation for emphasis on quality, attention to detail, dedication to customers' job fulfillment, and commitment to timely delivery.

Today, we are one of the leading printers in Malaysia, serving customers locally and globally. Some highlights of who and what we are:

• Our workforce numbering more than 100 people operate from premises covering 2 acres (8000 square metres).
• We have a full range of infrastructure and equipment that enable us to offer the full spectrum of printing services, from design and artwork, through pre-press and printing, to binding and other post-press finishing.
• We were one of the first publishers to venture into CTP.
• We are a leader in integrated workflow management, and have put in place our own ERP system linking costing, production control, inventory, accounts and management.

Our capital investments for 2008 include the following machines:

• New high-speed 5-colour press with online coating, incorporating the latest printing and colour-matching technology.
• Setting up of a new Hardcover Binding Division with the acquisition of an online Casebinding line.
• Acquisition of a second CTP complete with CIP3/CIP4 and JDF-compliant workflow for online integration between prepress and printing.

A key point that runs in the background, yet functions critically, is our philosophy towards backup and contingencies. We have backups for nearly every stage of every aspect of our operations - from machinery to backup power generators to data storage to water storage. This minimizes interference and delay in our production and delivery.

Our publishing roots date back more than 20 years with "MunSangPoh", the foremost Chinese tabloid paper in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. Over the years, we established ourselves as a leading Chinese publisher. Our steadily increasing stable of publications covers areas such as current-affairs, children/education, health, entertainment/leisure, youth interests, electronic gadgets & technology, sports, and fengshui.

MunSang Media Group today comprises the following component divisions, all of which can offer their services and support individually, or together in various combinations as part of an integrated solution to suit the customers' requirements.

1. Publishing
The leading Chinese publisher in Malaysia. Currently we have the largest number of publications, ranging from tabloids to magazines to paperbacks, across a broad range of subjects, from family to health to women to children to sports to entertainment.

2. Printing
Offers a Total Printing Solution for internal publications as well as external customers, locally and internationally.

3. Distribution
A well-established and extensive distribution network throughout the whole of Malaysia & Singapore, Brunei, and south Thailand, with channels to other South-east Asian countries, Australia & New Zealand, and Hong Kong.

4. Logistics
Complements the Distribution Network by providing Product and/or Data Warehousing and Transportation Support.

5. Paper Trading
Sources paper direct from mills and from secondary sources, primarily to ensure consistent supply of quality paper and to control material cost for all our print customers. Excess capacity offered for trade in the market.

6. E-Media / Cross-Media
Online publications, online advertising, cross-media advertising & activities, content downloads - various combinations of physical and virtual media.

7. Member-Affiliation Programme / Marketing
Membership programme for readers, collaboration with advertisers in marketing campaigns.

To ensure production efficiency and timely delivery to customers:

• Our team of experienced staff place great emphasis on job-planning and workflow coordination.
  
• We have invested in and developed our ERP system to enable integration between job costing, production planning, process control, warehouse inventory control, analysis and accounting.
  
• Every part of every job is monitored and tracked meticulously from raw materials through work-in-progress to finished product, packing and delivery.
  
• Emphasis on proper documentation serves as a solid base for subsequent analyses and review.
  

To maintain high standards of quality:

• We use only quality materials whether paper, ink, blankets and rollers, chemicals, etc.
  
• Equipment are kept calibrated regularly using sophisticated tools such as monitor optimizers and densitometers.
  
• We insist on providing and following accurate proofing to ensure faithful, accurate and consistent reproduction of colour, content and pagination, from originals to finished product.
  
• Strict process and quality control procedures are enforced under the watchful and experienced eyes of our production supervisors and operators.

To ensure that all systems, equipment and machinery operate optimally without interruption so that jobs are delivered on schedule:

• Quality parts are used, and pre-maintenance planned to minimize machine downtime.
  
• Backups of all data and file servers are made automatically onsite and offsite.
  
• Backup data-transmission systems deployed to maintain data-traffic channels.
  
• Backups of all processes and machineries, from the simplest paper cutter to the largest newspaper web-press are invested.
  
• Backups even of critical utilities like power generators and water reserves are maintained.

We actively keep abreast of developments in the printing and related industries, and provide our staff with relevant training to upgrade them. We also continuously update our equipment, technical knowhow and resources.
